The Indonesia Solar Summit (ISS) was first held in 2022 by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and the Institute for Essential Services Reform (IESR).

In 2023, ISS was held by IESR and the Indonesian Solar Energy Association (AESI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and was part of Indonesia's chairmanship of ASEAN through the first ASEAN Solar Summit.

This year, IESR will once again host ISS 2026 in collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The event, which will take place in  2026 in Bali, will carry the theme Ambition to Action: Scaling the 100 GW Solar Frontier for National Energy Sovereignty.
